83 Rufous Hummingbird

$12.00

Hand signed by the artist, single-matted in 8 x 10 mat (choose mat color below - price includes mat), foam-core backed and bagged. Rufous Hummingbird. Oct 4, 2007 allow two weeks for this. I am trying to rework this painting, although as to quality it may be a random walk whether it ends up better or worse than previous versions. The Rufous Hummingbird is the traditional Hummer of the Pacific Northwest, SW Canada and SE Alaska. It's very aggressive and makes a wonderful buzzing noise, I think with its wings, so you can always tell if they are around. Rufous come up in late March and early April, timing their migration with the blooming of the Salmonberry and a few other native flowers. Females are strikingly beautiful in a different way; this is a breeding plumage male.
