Ed Newbold - Wildlife Artist

298 Fairview

$25.00

Hand-signed and numbered by the artist, limited edition 1,200, 10.5 x 15 (unmatted, but mats to 16 x 20), foam-core backed and bagged. Fairview. This is the view from Fairview Avenue where it clips Lake Union's Southeast corner. In the distance is the Aurora Bridge and Wallingford. In the time I've been selling this print I've met many great people who's lives have intertwined with the various boats shown. One guy told me he was on the Dorothea when the Navy took it for WWII. Then there were the really nice owners of the Florence Tilden, if I recall correctly, plus people who spent summers working in Alaska on the Dorothea, and some great folks associated with the tug the Robert. The birds in the picture are a Glaucous-winged Gull, two swimming winter-plumaged Horned Grebes, and a big line-up of Double-crested Cormorants, one drying it's wings. This print, painted and published in the 80's is almost sold out, btw.
