#420 American Redstarts (12 x 16)
12 x 16 signed print, foamcore-backed and bagged, “American Redstarts.” Printed on the same heavy paper as our prints and hand-signed by the artist. This is a painting I did of one of America’s most startlingly beautiful but not-well-publicized migratory songbirds. They are among the most common Warblers in many areas of the East and Midwest and range into Washington from the Northeast corner. They appear to be declining on the west side here in Washington. Both the female (yellower) and the male (black and orange-red and white) flick their colorful tails habitually. They are a delight to encounter in riparian woods.
