Oct 19, 2010. It’s not the standard advice you hear from the art world, but I have always believed in going back to old paintings and reworking them until they are fully resolved however long that takes. I painted on one painting for 19 years before deciding, well, win some lose some. Anyway, Hummingbirds of the US is going to have to go into a second edition pretty soon, so I’ve been reworking that. It’s done as of today, but I have to finish other paintings before it gets published. I see the female Lucifer’s is too orange on the underside, that’ll have to get fixed in Photoshop.
