Save America Vote Harris Walz: new Seattle Times ad Sunday 20th Oct

Posted from Seattle, WA October 18, 2024

I’m running a new ad similar to my last one in color in the A-section of the Seattle Times on Sunday Octobery 20, 2024.

For those who differ in their pick, this is how I feel:

Our country has celebrated the greatness of George Washington, but have we ever truly understood the magnitude of his greatness?

It wasn’t because he could throw a silver dollar across the Potomac.

It was because he refrained from becoming a “Strongman Ruler.”

This was despite having every opportunity to do this.

While the Congress was procrastinating and screwing up, his subordinates created a plan to disband Congress and take over the reins of the infant Nation.

It would have been as easy as baking a pie.

But Washington reamed them a new one.

He had an iron-will and he was determined to become a President in a democracy ruled by a Constitution with divided powers. What they were asking him to become was precisely what he had been fighting against.

Very few other nations that have “Fathers of their country’ that they can be proud of, much less ones who held firm to a limited-power Democracy-engendering interpretation of democratic leadership.

But this explains why we became prosperous.

It also explains the advances we have made in the rights of humans. If people think these advances have been too few and too slow in coming that’s because they have been. But that’s not George’s fault. And as imperfect as out commitment to the rights of all has been, it must, sadly be graded on a curve. Our country still sines like a beacon for people around the world languishing unjustly in jail cells and unable to pursue their economic or political dreams..

And now there is only one candidate who will keep us centered in the tradition George Washington created, the one he deserves the Lion’s share of the credit for creating.

Vote Harris-Walz.
