This is the right half of an old painting, Ft. Worden White-crown. Kindly people from Port Townsend illuminated the fact that this is the Point Wilson Lighthouse, not the Fort Worden Lighthouse as I had originally thought. I remastered the painting, it’s been a long process culminating in October of 2017. The bird is a White-crowned Sparrow, which is notable as being one of the most capably urban native birds in the Northwest. I hear them singing at Westlake Mall. They like rock outcroppings in the high mountains with sparse vegetation such as spruce and fir to nest in. Parking lots and streets now stand in for rock outcroppings and urban plantings for the spruce and fir. It has a delightful song.
