This is a compilation of some of Ed’s greatest hits with some new ones thrown in to the mix. At the top is Company, with a pod of Orcas swimming past a sailboat in the mist, one of Ed’s all-time favorite paintings. It presents a classic Northwest experience that no most of us, including Ed, have never had. The second image is the West Point Lighthouse in Discovery Park, Seattle, a classic Western WA scene that is slightly undervalued perhaps. The third painting is an old ferry with surfacing Dall Porpoise. I remember many Dall Porpoise in the Salish Sea in the last century, not sure what the experts say about this, but I have only seen Dall in the Pacific Ocean near the continental shelf and never in the Salish Sea in the last 25 years. The fourth painting, Evening Commute, has a Great Blue Heron flying home in the evening over the Edmonds ferry dock which is loading homeward bound passengers. Next is The Harbor and Winter, Ed’s painting of Gig Harbor, WA, and one of his flagship prints, again, reaching back in time a bit given the boat makeup in the Harbor, and last is Pike Place Parasols, a new painting of the Market showing the wonderful new way that Market Management has been using the space at the entrance to the Market opposite Ed’s store.
