This image was the flagship Market-centered print at the store for about a decade. One way to look at this is I’ve done maybe 800 paintings of wildlife and one still-life that I can remember. Only a small minority percentage of the wildlife paintings were finishable and then became a success at the store, but I’m batting 100% on still-lifes, this print was very successful at the store.  Still, it’s my one and only still-life. I owe a great debt on the success of this print to two amazing artists, Georgia O’Keeffe, who painted before my time mostly and Christina Nichols, a brilliant artist who was my contemporary when I was at the North end of the Market and who besides doing the Market did Art Shows and Fairs around the Northwest. I decided in April of 2023 to issue this the same size as the original print.
