Customers occasionally disqualify an image from the purchase candidates by saying, “but we didn’t see that.”  Well, here’s a painting of a sight no one has ever seen, especially me.  It’s an idealized image of how I think of the Northwest but the specifics are imagined so I sometimes call it “Whales and Ferry crossing in front of Brigadoon Island.” I added the red buoy before I was sure there were any red buoys out in the open parts of the Salish Sea and was relieved to see some the last time I was out there, on a quest for a Horned Puffin hanging out at Smith Island.

This 9 x 12 edition of Whales Starboard is in its second edition as of mid-December 2021.  The color and minor details are somewhat different from the first edition.
