This is a painting from the 90s that I got back to work on.  I’m loving it and have spent hours and hours somewhat compulsively trying to fine tune the detail lately (Sept/Oct, 2017).  Manet would not approve.  It’s the view from Seward Park, more or less. Now it’s suddenly the spring of 2025 and I was back to work again on it for this 2025 remaster, and now I really truly love it. The Red-winged Blackbird provides the visual and sound track of the North American marsh, a truly delightful bird, and one with a lot of love of life. Watch them as the give Crows hell all day long in spirited defense of their offspring in any big wetland.
