Here is a black-and-white version of Caspian Tern on Elliott Bay. We have been asked so many times for black and white prints that we decided we were being rude not to have any. This one turned out better than I expected! Here is the write up of the color print:
I’m chasing the success of the painting “Seattle from the Bay” with another painting like it but that features a different color scheme, different atmospherics, and one of Seattle’s most astonishing common birds, at least lately, the Caspian Tern. This is the world’s largest Tern, a strikingly elegant large crested bird that plunge-dives for small fish and flies very strongly on narrow pointed wings. Caspian Terns have been reasonably common over Elliott Bay and on Lake Washington for the last decade or so.
