#396 Winter Goldeneyes, Poulsbo
This painting is from the 2012-2014 time period. A flock of Barrow’s Goldeneye is in the Marina in downtown Poulsbo (Liberty Bay). The boats tied up are more or less faithfully painted and one is called “Tango,” so I always wanted to call this painting “Last Tango in Poulsbo,” but “last” never quite seemed to work. Darn. I’ve also struggled with wanting to put the tops of the Olympics in above the line of the hill, but that would be a lie (they are visible from just a little further up the hill), and I never got the right artist’s license to do it.
