#49 Red-tailed Hawk

This is a first-year Red-tailed Hawk. A typical adult in the Northwest wouldn’t have the white on the chest but instead a buffy color. The model for this painting was a bird belonging to Dale & Denise Pressnall of Federal Way, WA. See the photos/news section of this website for a shot of Dale at a benefit for the Pressnall family.
