This is a modestly somewhat-faithful rendition of the scene at Ptarmigan Ridge looking toward Mt. Shuksan in the fall with blooming Heather. A Mother Black Bear (these Bears often are brownish in the Washington Cascades) teaches her cubs to forage. For my painting I relied on excellent photographs of a Mother and single cub in an alpine Cascade setting taken by my friend Richard Droker.
