This is an old image, though I am constantly reworking it, but in an all-new size, 9 x 12. Being a Bird-specialist, I think I have had trouble painting Tulips–I’m still learning about them and struggling for good photographs. It’s not that I don’t take pictures of Tulips, it’s that I can’t find them when I need them.  Lately I’ve been having a blast working on them and this is the current version as of August 2024.  Oh, the Skagit Valley is about 60 miles North of Seattle, the largest river between Seattle and Canada, and yes, there were early-settling Dutch immigrants, (should I call them asylum-seekers?) in the area and everyone else’s life has been enriched ever since.
