12 x 16 signed poster, foamcore-backed and bagged. Printed on the same heavy paper as our prints and hand-signed by the artist. This poster is about the gravitational pull of the Pike Place Market. When Tom Hanks used to come by the Desimone Bridge to haggle with his favorite craftsperson, someone told me: “See that guy over there? He’s a famous movie star.” “Oh, sure he is,” I was heard to exclaim. When Joan Baez came browsing up the dogleg, I ran ahead of her like a fusilear and told people to be expecting her, but warned “Be cool! Be sure not to pester her.” When Rikki Lee Jones introduced herself (just “Name’s Rikki”) I died a thousand deaths because I was playing an Emmy Lou Harris song at the time and I always liked Rikki Lee Jones. Well, so much for namedropping, but you get the point. This poster attempts to drive home the idea that “Few can resist the occasional trip to see the Pike Place Market…”
This edition is the result of a major painting revision of the image and remastering of the image and was published on July 5, 2024.
