- The original of this painting from the 90s is basement-flood-damaged from a Pineapple storm in the last 30 years. I did a little work on it with a brush and a little more on the computer in 2025 and am bringing it out in many sizes that it has never been printed in before. These animals have a similar appeal as Dogs and indeed, when I first read about the taxonomy of Mammals in the early 60s they were considered to be of the same Order as Canines and Felines, i.e., Carnivora. If you spend time in the Salish Sea you might have a story of a Seal hanging around as if it is interested in what you are doing, which I’m sure it was. They may fear Humans to a great or small degree but now that they are facing serious predation by Bigg’s Orcas in the Salish Sea there are stories of them jumping into boats to escape the terror, so there is no question as to who they regard as more their friends.
