This new painting, which I started on in 2023, celebrates the change the PDA has made at the entrance of the Market on Pike Place. Gone is the row of parked cars playing cat and mouse with the PEOs (which sometimes included my parked car). Replacing it is a collection of picnic tables with a white picket fence around it. There is no real downside here, this has transformed the Market into the place it has always wanted to be–by which mean it has transformed the Market into a more completely pleasant place to spend time. I loved this immediately but what surprises me is that it hasn’t really resulted in any problems with the early morning deliveries I usually make twice a week to the Market.
