The text reads:

In a painting based on real life, a male Anna’s Hummingbird rests in a snow-covered Birch tree during a winter snow in Seattle. Hummingbirds living through snowstorms, sometimes with the help of feeders put out by residents, has become a phenomenon in the Northwest since this bird’s arrival from the south (beachheads were established in Seattle by the mid-70’s) and presumably will be for as long as snow makes occasional appearances in the area.
