#563 Bald Eagle (for 8 x 10 mat)

Anyone who is fighting the good fight, trying to keep a friend from going down the dangerous road of hoarding maybe shouldn’t read this.  I started this painting in 2010 and immediately “realized” it would never be any good. I told myself, “Just throw it away!” We don’t have a lot of room in our modest-sized house.

In 2024, thanks to urging from my friend and longtime-collector Jens Klinner, I was going through old paintings to see if any were worth finishing and found it, seeing clearly the old problem that I had thought was insurmountable back in 2020. In a coupe of quick sessions I came to what you see here and I’ll let the customers decide what they think about it, but I absolutely think it is good enough to try to bring it to the public’s attention, and I personally am delighted.
