I originally painted this in 1997 when the species was still named “Pacific Chorus Frog.”  The title of the painting I thus made “Long Live the Chorus.” But time moves on and the scientists apparently decided it wasn’t a Chorus Frog but a Tree Frog.  I had loved the name because it attempted to bring to mind the fact that Frogs are in one of the very most hard hit groups of Aminals in the 6th Extinction, and we in the Northwest should regard it as something of a miracle that we still hear the beautiful “croakings” of this diminutive creature.  In Oct/Nov of 2025 I repainted the whole painting will leaving the composition intact.  The Dragonfly is supposed to be a Roseate Skimmer.
