There are many, many specialty birds of South Texas. These are the ones I happened to pick to paint. At the top is a Ringed Kingfisher. Proceeding down is a pair of elegant White-tailed Kites. Below that is the very large and stunning Altamara Oriole. Then a pair of Green Jays bathe in standing water. A Greater Kiskadee watches for flying insects. Anchoring the bottom are four foraging Red-crowned Parrots. Long live the birds of Texas!
