The writing on the back–I love it when there is writing on the back–says I began this in early November and finished it on November 11 of 2005. However, I’ve been working on this off and on for 21 years, that’s normal for paintings that are sold in print form at the store, every time I republish the print I work on the painting a little bit.

On the day I finished this painting for possibly the last time, March 24, 2026, we saw distant Common Loons along the coast of Des Moines, WA. They were in their finest breeding plumage, or at least one was, which happens this time of year as the Loons start thinking about heading North.  Loons are one of the things that make life worth living.
