NC #45 Skagit Tulips
The text reads:
Skagit Tulips
The Skagit, pronounced with a soft g, is the largest river between Seattle and the Canada border. The extensive ‘Skagit Flats,’ where the river slows and braids as it nears the Salish Sea has been converted from Beaver dams, logjams, meadows, marsh and Cedar-forests to (mostly) agricultural land that produces a wide variety of crops but is currently reknowned mostly for its Tulips. Timed to coincide with the massive early spring bloom of Tulips is the wildly popular Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, based in Mount Vernon.
