Ft. Worden. The text on back of card reads: Looking East over Admiralty Inlet, the Ft. Worden Lighthouse guards the Northerly beginnings of Puget Sound. It sits on Point Wilson just north of the city of Port Townsend, which is known for its Victorian-era architecture & rustic ambience. The bird in the foreground is a White-crowned Sparrow, a native species that forages on rock and scree in mountainous areas & has learned to use paved & scraped areas in the lowlands as if they were rock outcroppings in the sub-alpine. Not only handsome, this bird has a beautiful song that can be heard even in parts of downtown Seattle in spring.
