This is the acrylic original painting of a Northern Cardinal sitting on a Virginia Creeper vine in front of a Walnut tree and old Red Oak leaves. The substrate is illustration board. The scene is inspired by the view from the house I grew up in in Pennsylvania, we used to have a feeder in that Walnut and it wasn’t unusual to have a male Northern Cardinal, or a female for that mattter, staging there to get down to the feeder. This painting was mostly done in 1992 but I returned to it and worked it more a few times since then. It’s a rare case of the original being much brighter than the print, as the Cardinal in this original really pops, not so with either size of prints I published from this piece.
Buyers are free to send the painting back in the first month if they do not like the original or were expecting it to look different. In that case the money will be refunded in full. They are also welcome to have me bring it down to the store for a look, simply email me ahead of time at ednewbold1@yahoo.com
